Now I'm pissed off by the FA* lenses. Three out of four I've owned have had the metal
window over the focusing scale loose right out of the box; brand new. One of my lenses
needed internal cleaning after one year. Now my FA* 200/4 macro is gone busted. The
window eventually fall off and got broken after my endless tries of gluing it propely
in place with superglue. Even superglue wasn't powerful enough. Now my lens is full of
glue marks and witout focus scale window. It isn't the metal thats the problem; its
the glass part thats cannot be bent to fit the lens curvature. The metal part is
absolute crap. It can teared to pieces with my fingers. So here you have (another)
lens made partly of scrap metal glued in place with double sided tape! I mean, even if
the window was properly in place, how long does double sided tape work under field
conditions? This isn't worthy of an expensive Pentax lens and problem have existed for
years now.
