Sorry to see that you have been so unlucky about your FA* lenses, Pål. I
don't want to justify Pentax for what seems a poor build of some of
their lenses, but after 13 years using their AF lenses, some of them FA*
and F*, I haven't experienced such kind of problems. In fact, the only
time I've had one of them repaired was my fault (and also my former
tripod's fault too). I was not careful enough, the flimsy legs of my
tripod collapsed and the lens landed on the ground.
But apart from this, I've never had them serviced, neither my A or M
series lenses. The only lens I had which broke without any apparent
reason was a Vivitar zoom, and it was in the warranty period.
By the way, I suppose your FA* 200 mm. Macro is still under warranty. I
think your Pentax dealer should have fixed it.
