It is common for studio flashes to have a full power duration in the region
of 1/100sec. Using a shutter speed shorter than that could result in uneven
exposure across the travel of the shutter, because the closing blades would
commence before the flash had quenched. It is not a fault of Pentax but a
phenomenon common to all brands of camera where a focal plane shutter with
X-synch shorter than 1/100 is used.
