Yep.

I usually give a copy to my Parents (substitute other relative or friend as 
required) to look after.  Its not fire-proof or anything, but the chances of 
us both having a fire at once are slim.

Hit and miss I guess.  It depends on my shooting... if its just casual round 
the house stuff, it might take months.  After an important event (wedding, 
holiday, etc), I'll try to get it done as soon as possible.

I usually make a fresh copy every time.  The old copy gets kept too, at 
least for a few generations.  While incremental backups are a 
cheaper/quicker option, I prefer the added security of multiple copies. 
That way, if a DVD is defective, or dies after a few years, its unlikely its 
the only copy of the shot.
