Godfrey, I guess my goals are oriented to creating good images, not knowing how to exploit the limits of every camera. I learn what I need to know, and keep the manual around for when I see opportunities to extend my skills with new features.
In terms of buying cameras, you're wrong. If you have the money, you should get the features you want. Cameras are improving fast enough that you should. As far as still selling photos made in 2005, well... Let me show you some I made in '78 with a Pentax ME. I think we all know it's not the equipment that makes a great photo or a sale.
