Just a few comments about manuals.

Based on the manuals people bring into my photo classes, even the best
manuals are bad.  This is especially bad considering most consumers
don't understand the photographic concepts necessary to read the
manual.

As for my personal experience - I carry the small versions of the
manuals for the K20d and 540 flash unit in a small pocket of my camera
bag.  These are used when needed for reference.  The 540 manual is
used more often than the k20.

I've printed larger versions of both and put them in binders.  The
bigger manuals are much easier to read.
