When I put the crate motor in the car, I drove it on the street for 500-1000 miles before taking it to the track. My first few sessions on the track (testing day) I wanted to take it easy, so rather than run the race rubber, I had some crappy street tires (175-70-14) on it. That car sure was a blast to drive with the go-kart suspension and rallycross levels of traction. I'd love to do a race with a bunch of SMs wearing hard rubber, it'd be total blast. -- The first step is learning to take great photos, the second step is learning to throw away ones that are merely good.
