Hard to come up with another car manufacturer that currently pushes their involvement in motor sport more than Mazda, at least in the popular media stream.

BTW, Ford is less involved with Mazda since they sold off a chunk of Mazda - previously Ford owned 33.9% of Mazda, as of 11/08 Ford's share was reduced to 13.4%

Man, you're not the only one. They've tried a couple of times but without much heart or serious effort. I do see occasional ads where they claim that on any given weekend, more people are racing Mazdas than any other marque. Maybe there's just not enough of an enthusiasts' market to keep them in the black. Or maybe Ford doesn't want to dilute their own motorsports marketing message. Or maybe something completely different. I don't know.
