Google already knows where you are and what you do since you have their phone.
Joining Google+ doesn't change that one bit.

Frank wasn't talking about _joining_ Google+, he was talking about the data that the Google+ _app_ says it will collect if he authorizes it on his phone; quite a bit more data than Google can collect if you just use a web browser

Google knows where you are because their GPS monitors your actions.

i think there's some confusing vagueness in the the idea that "Google knows" ... what information is actually collected by Google when you use its maps, versus when you log into a service like Google+, much less use the Google+ app, is rather different; the mapping service doesn't ask permission to track your calls, for example

i have a relative, not absolute, trust for the tech services i use; true, the cognitive dissonance of both using and being cautious about Google, etc., can lure one to just give up, but resisting the lure makes life interesting
