And, also, my PEG-425T. Having reinstalled from Memory Stick and also tried other methods (such as installing packages one by one from scratch) I'm fairly sure it _is_ Plucker 1.2 beta 12 doing something wrong with preferences which 1.2 beta 11 wasn't, at least not obviously. I think the best way to show this is: i. Hard reset. ii. Install 1.2 beta 12 from scratch and no other package. iii. Back up to Memory Stick. iv. Hard reset. v. Restore from Memory Stick (including 1.2 beta 12) vi. Add another package. After the last step the Clie becomes unstable, giving the 'fatal exception'. Alastair
