Hi Junix, naah. i think those potential users are more scared of the unknown rather than the known usability issues. In the end, using the first approach have a bigger chance to make those users love Linux desktop even more while those under the second one would just end up heart-broken (sounds cheezy ei :-) )
and if Orly could scare them, can you just imagine the look on their face if they read Linus Torvalds[1] and/or Asa Dotzler's[2] commentary on (Gnome) Linux Desktop ? :-) [1] http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS8745257437.html [2] http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/008499.html http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/2005/07/linux_not_ready_5.html On Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 2:42 PM, Junix Gaspar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>wrote: > > [...] But please Orly, you are a senior member here and statements like > that can be viewed differently in many ways, and a lot of it would be viewed > negatively even if your goal is just to be constructive.
