Additional questions ... What about usernames? Are there scripts that I can use so I can migrate the old ones including their messages? If I understand correctly, I no longer need to create local users but in the database only?
Yes, that is also the beauty of dbmail, no local account is created on the Linux server. All user accounts, credentials, messages are all stored on a database.
You need to run the dbmail-adduser script to create dbmail users, that's it. Basically, you need to create a dbmail user and migrate the mails. (see my previous post)
