Derek:
Derek smiled at her, "I am glad to hear that," he told her. This was very
true, the longer she was around the less guilt he felt about her death,
though he doubted it would ever completely disipate, it was nice to be rid
of some of it. No matter how you looked at it though, he knew it was his
fault and everything else she'd been through since then. Had she not died
she never would have had to deal with any of it. The guilt that he had felt
about it, was more monumental than anyone in the house ever knew. Much like
the nightmares about his father's death, which still haunted him, he had
them about Julia as well. "I've met an angel once," he told her absently,
"face to face." He thought about the young woman who had died so young and
ended up at the Legacy asking for help.
Sam:
"Oh I will," she assured Reese, "and if he is involved I'll know just how
serious it is before we leave this island. It won't be a total loss, no
matter what happens. I've wanted to see what was over here for as long as I
can remember. I used to beg my mother to bring me over here, but she said
we were allowed. I always thought it was kind of mean to make a whole
island private, now I'd give my eye teeth to have one of my own."
