"So, I did and once I started I began to look as many different ones as I
could find. I found it fascinating. My mother encouraged it, the research
and comparisons. Though, thinking back, she might have been hoping that
somehow seeing other people absorb in faith, would make me more inclined to
do so myself." It was odd talking about his mother like this to anyone
other than Ingrid. He usually did not discuss his family with anyone, or at
least not often. That was a private thing he normally chose to keep
private.

Julia thought about that for a moment before commenting quietly "I'm not so
sure about that, Derek. The faith part that is, I'll dig up the violin easy
enough. But think about it. If you didn't have faith of some sort, you
wouldn't be fighting the forces of darkness. You know it's there and have
faced it. Not only that but have defeated it more than a few times. You
know that there is Light. You have faith that the work you and all of us
do, make a difference."
"I haven't even begun to scratch the surface on the different religions."
She laid her head back against the seat and gave a half smile as the ferry
docked "I might have to pick your brain some time. Remind me to make sure
I'm around if your mother ever visits. She sounds fascinating."
The redhead scowled at her friend. "Well, if that what it was it was the
wrong answer. Not that it is any of her business anyway." Sam sighed, "I'm
not much on the guard dog attitude."
She hated doing it but Reese had always pointed out things to Sam, being her
best friend and looking out for her best interest and vice versa, and wasn't
about to stop now "Maybe it is her business? You don't know enough about
Mister Rayne to know whether he's available or not."
