Derek watched her thoughtfully for a moment.  "I never said I did not have
faith at all," he told her gently.  "But I don't really have faith the way
most people do, the way my mother and sister would like.  My faith lies more
in the....obtainable.  In what I know to be real."  He smiled then, "I'm
sure you will get to meet her at some point, if you stay around for awhile.
I think she will like you."

Julia grinned softly "You are not like most people, Derek Rayne, but your
faith is just as strong and that's what counts.  Take it from someone that's
seen Angels up close and personal."

She regarded him for a moment, then finished quietly with the same grin
"I'll be staying around for awhile.  I have to play the fiddle and pick your
brains.. and butt heads."


Reese started up the car and got ready to drive off of the ferry as it came
to a complete stop "Guess you will."
