"If it's part of your job I shouldn't have to," Derek told him. He then
turned his dark eyes on Julia giving her a good natured smile.
Julia stuck her tongue out at him, grinning the whole time and then wiggled
her toes.
"I'll try to get used to it, but at some point I am going to be right
myself." He was actually thankful for the interruption, it gave him time to
collect his thoughts. Turning back to Philip, he shifted slightly in his
chair. "I'm afraid you did...however since you are here we should probably
discuss the matter with you, at least to some degree."
At this her toes stilled and she looked at him curiously. She didn't notice
Barbara at the door slipping back into the kitchen to give them privacy or
closing the library doors behind her.
