Hi all,

I recently acquired a PowerBook 1400/166C that has a Vimage Vpower 233MHz G3 processor upgrade. However, the unit did not come with an AC adaptor. So I was wondering if anyone knew where I could pick up one cheap? I've heard that the 1400's work with the adaptors from the 3400 and G3 models, so whatever would be cheapest would be great.

Also, I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find some info on the processor upgrade? Unfortunately a Google search yielded very little. :-\ Mostly I'm wondering if this card needs a certain amount of ram, or drivers to work. (If it's not obvious yet, I haven't tried powering up the 'book yet).

I've noticed that the 1400 has the same power requirements as the 5300, a machine that i do happen to have an adaptor for. I was also wondering if it would be possible to use the connector from an old Powerbook Duo adaptor mated to the 5300 adaptor. But I'd need pinouts for the 1400 power connector, any ideas?

Also, if the PRAM battery is dead, will the machine refuse to boot? If so, what kind of battery would I need to replace the current one with? I'm just trying to cover all the bases.

Anything else I should know about this particular 'book? I'm not new to macs or powerbooks by any means, just this model.

Thanks in advance,

Jason
