From what John says I figured out that basically he likes the 1xx series.

And I think he is right!

Personally I have several Macs, including a G5, but what it comes to write and to be very concentrated I switch to the 100 or, when I fancy the color to the 180c.

The 140-180 saries are quite heavy, but if you use them to work in different house location thay are okay. I am finalizing an article for the magazine I write for (www.applicando.com) and I did most of the typing with the 180c on the patio and on the Palm at the seaside...

So if you don't need the PC card stuff, the ethernet capabilities etc... go for the 165c or the 180c. Personally I bought two 180c for 50 euro and used one of them to "upgrade" my old 160!

I now have a 1 GB HD, 14 MB RAM, internal modem, System 7.1 and MacWrite Pro and I am happier than on the G5.

When I need the Photoshop stuff, the DSL, the web etc... I switch to more powerful things.รน

A comment on the screen:

the 165c passive matrix screenis bigger, but the 8,4" active matrix of the 180c is gorgeous.

Regarding the keyboard I would put the 1400 at the 1st place and the 140-180 at the second.

All PB keyboards are 10.5"-10.7" wide, including the Aluminium!

Ben

I hate the keyboard on my 520. It is hard to type on. Do the 165c and
180c have keyboards like that?
