I Must agree with everyone here about this issue,I have owned every type of power-book apple have made apart from the 2400 series and i think that if you want a low-end colour PB for typing, Then the 1400 would be the best choice. Also if you decide to improve the book over time then the Ram has a higher ceiling also it can take G3 upgrades which are plentiful and cheap on ebay nowadays. It is easy to stick it on a wireless network with a wifi card, because it is ppc it can support higher OS! I suggest That if you have less than 40mb ram in one you stick with 8.6 which is fine for most of the day to day task's nowadays.
