No shame yet ... the pile is still sitting here and one PW is still plugging
away at its assigned duties. A PTP is also functional, but in the back room
with cover off and scsi drive connected but hanging outside. The others have
various lightning symptoms: non working ethernet ports and intermittent
weirdness when I try to turn them on.
I have been instructed to discard them, but can't bring myself to do that.
I suppose I could try clean installs of operating systems and try pci
ethernet cards to see if they'd work ... where's the time?
I imagine they'll be sitting there for another year or two, then I can write
to the powercomputing list and get chastized again for considering getting
rid of them.
This mirrored door G4 acts a lot like my old powerwave, hopefully it'll live
up to the "workhorse" status of our powerwaves. One better thing about the
G4, the cd drive always works (knock on wood.) Still not used to this weirdo
mouse though and the keyboard is clunky and noisy. I do most of my typing on
my powerbook 1400 (which is as old as my powerwave.)
We also still have a Mac IIci I think the one from Canada doing its job
daily.

peace now,
wayne
