I shoot sport and only ever use RAW.Fortunately i do not have to meet tight
deadlines with a couple of pictures rather the opposite having to supply a
large amount of stock/action within a couple of days. Being a one man band
I try to keep the image quality of the finished files as high as possible
hence the security of RAW.Shooting jpeg only is akin to having no negs to
work from only prints. How many worked this way when they shot film?
If it is of interest to anyone a RAW Canon 1D file will produce
exceptional 13 "x19" prints even when the image is a 1/3 rd upright crop
from a landscape file (2464 x1648 pixel ) shot at 1600asa.Doubt i would
have tried this if all I had was the jpeg file.
