I acquired the Canon D-60 last July...and fell in love with it almost as soon as I opened the box. Since '94 my small format work has been with the Canon A2 and a complete set of lens going from very close up to telephoto. Now, the only time I shoot 35 film is back up shots when shooting aerials with my Hasselblad. The D-60 is so sweet. With a burst rate of 8 frames combined with a one gig microdrive that gives me between 350 to 400 frames at full res jpeg... it is one great rig.
BTW... when Canon drops the price on the 11 pixel camera... I will be first in line to purchase it.
Aloha,
Karl

Hi List I offer imaging workflow advice and training for photolibraries. Normally this concerns conventional scanning of transparencies etc but recently I have seen may good files come from digital cameras directly and I believe its about time that such images were accepted for stock.I know there has been recent posts on this subject, the client is not expecting 100mb files, the spec is for 55mb (A3 @300dpi). This would involve interpolation from the camera original files. I'm writing a spec that would require submissions from at best uncompressed raw files and at worst least jpg compression files, interpolated by the photographer and submitted as RGB tiff. Having recently played with a Canon D60 and seen very (very) slight edge artefacts I'm considering which cameras may qualify as serious film replacement platforms. Since I don't own any of the higher spec cameras I would appreciate guidance from people on the list as to what cameras fall into this category. The Canon 1Ds would seem to fit, what would the others be? Much modern stock is pretty loosely shot and is not intended to be 100% technically perfect but occasionally there will be shoots were detail capture is also important.
