Hi Stephen, This I'm sure is very interesting to a large number of people on this list and others too.
I think the criterion need to be carefully thought out both in terms of jpeg / tiff / raw and also sharpening and interpolation methods. In the case of the latter, my experience in recent weeks have shown that my tried and tested method of upsizing with a CCD camera has not yielded the best result when comparing different approaches with CMOS files. Similarly, some camera files have to have a minimal amount of sharpening or end users will never buy on the basis that they are too soft (D30 / 60). I would suggest that the Canon 1Ds will naturally fall into the category and on the basis of samples, the Kodak DCS14n. Perhaps controversially, I would say that the CCD Canon 1D would also fit (albeit more marginally) as its files show an amazing tolerance to being stretched... A potential minefield, but in long term rewarding from all. Nick WB. > This would involve > interpolation from the camera original files.
