Hi All

Perhaps someone with a Canon 1Ds could try to duplicate a problem for me. I want to check whether this is a design problem or a fault, as canon haven't come across it.

I am getting a band of shifted colour and noise across my files in deep shadows. It is not often visible but can be checked easily. The method is to take a shot of a white wall or pice of paper, as metered then close down stop, to produce a grey pic. Open the file in photoshop and using 'command U' increase the saturation to the highest level. With my camera you now have a band across the middle running left to right . Its height is from 850 pixels down to 1450 pixels down (on full res file). If you have this problem it is very apparent when doing this.

If anyone has a couple of minutes to spare to try this I would be very grateful to hear whether or not it happen to you.

all the best

David
