Hi all

Can I also recommend Tri-BackUP by Triedre (www.triedre.com) which is a good value Mac backup software and an alternative to Retrospect. I have been using it for backing up to 2 internal HDs and 2 external firewire LaCie drives (one of which goes every night to the garden shed - that's off-site for someone who works from home!) since the end of last year.

Having had 2 HDs fail in the last 12 months (one was admittedly 4 years old but one was still under warranty) I now sleep more soundly at night - also, as others have said, it's been invaluable when I have screwed up something and can easily go back to yesterday's version, treh day before or even last week to retrieve something.

You can drag and drop for sure, but programs like Retrospect allow you to
make automatic incremental backups to a server or tape at the of the working
day. Very useful if you have multiple hard-drives on a network in a big
studio, as it leaves out human error.
