Dear Alex,

Well I have minolta scan elite at the moment and its great. I will be
upgrading as well. The scan multi pro is supposed to knock the socks off
the nikon 8000 and is at least 1000 cheaper than the Nikon (given that
you have to buy the Glass 120 neg holder to get flat scans on the Nikon
as I understand and minolta comes with it). So there is no need to
question the minolta products. One thing about minolta is they always
seems to release late miss the market buzz, release too late so have
poor sales but there are rarely any problems as they have extensively
tested it. If minolta had done a dslr I would have stuck as there kit is
so well designed for the user in mind, things are where they are
supposed to be unlike some stuff on Nikon and Canon. I sure micheal is a
testiment to the dimage 7hi and how well designed that is.

Have have seen the scanner as low as 525 already and thats with
postage included. So odd are that as soon as it comes out someone will
have it for less than 500.

The software is good but obviously expect to use vuescan for negs when
ed has updated it.

Hope that helps.
