I was out of town for a few days, so excuse my delay to respond.

Basically you check your accounts, set your blocks and filters( adding to
the many already preinstalled) and you "clean" your main mail app by just
receiving  screened messages, and forget about weird playing with Mail
Rules, etc,and much less with the Junk Mail FIlter, which usually ends up
deleting important messages. A run I did for the Outlook Express Junk filter
last year destroyed my well organized archives of 4 years of e-mail messages
and I am still recovering  from such stupid move(from which only some 45% of
the messages survived).
 I will never use that piece of crap again.

There are other screening apps and, as I have read, equally useful as POP
Monitor. Run a simple search in Version Tracker and you will get options to
compare.
