Are you trying to print B&W or Color?

In any event, I find it necessary to convert to profile:

Image > Mode > Convert to profile and choose Stylus Photo 2100/2200 (I have
a 2200, so I choose Stylus Photo 2200)

If you are printing B&W here is my solution is:

I have found that to get satisfactory B&W prints I must use the Epson Matte
Black Cartridge. That is, I must remove the Photo Black cartridge and
replace it with the matte black cartridge. I also choose the Black Ink Only
option. With this setting and luster paper I get superb results. (With
this ink cartridge the choice of luster paper is not allowed by the Epson
driver so I print on luster paper with the Enhanced Matt Option.)
