Richard and David, I haven't talked to Dabs yet. My beef is more with the poor quality of LaCie's support which has effectively left me to struggle on my own.
However, thanks for the ideas, if Dabs aren't forthcoming I know where to go next. Also it forearms me for the discussion when I call them. Bob... I'm using windows 2k. But your point about the correct media is noted. I have had some problems with DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW! A costly hobby in terms of time and money.
