Paul,

I have been using the same recorder without problems for 6 months - my Lacie
is the external version which has a Pioneer DVR A105 engine. I have a couple
of suggestions.
1. Check that you have the latest firmware installed on the drive - last
time I looked Lacie did not list these upgrades on their website. I obtained
the latest (v1.33) from a Pioneer site.

2. Stick to good quality media. I use Ritek x4 DVD-R media, burnt with Nero,
without one failed disc. I did have problems using cheaper non-Ritek media.

I hope this helps.

I've finally given up on the LaCie D2 DVD recorder I bought a couple of
months ago.

It can't even read the DVD-R's it writes itself, though they play perfectly
well on my 3 year old laptop.
