Steven, The LaCie now hosts a Nec 1300A and Nec do not provide firmware updates. The only place I can find them is on firmware hacking sites. I've used NEC recommended media for the device.
Cheers Paul, 1. Check that you have the latest firmware installed on the drive - last time I looked Lacie did not list these upgrades on their website.
