Many thanks, William. I bought a simple USB1 card reader, tried it on the Mac, it wrote half a file then locked up 3 times. After that I removed the Iomega software and it works perfectly, making the Mac usable again!
Seems to me the problem may lie with Iomega, and that's why they won't respond other than with a stock reply.
Many thanks, John

I too bought an Iomega CDR USB2 which works fine on both PCs, but not on the Mac running System 9 using Iomega HotBurn.....The problem is that MacOS 9 recognises USB2 as being USB1 and then conflicts with the Iomega firmware. What you need is a CDR firewire drive - no problemo.
