The printing industry is rife with theories but here is the prevailing
wisdom.

The edict that the file should be twice the resolution of the screen
frequency is not hard and fast. The main reason for the increased resolution
at all is to prevent the screen from interfering with the pattern of the
pixels (moire) and other artifacting. A multiplier of as low as 1.3 times
the screen frequency will still yield excellent results. At 1.5 times the
screen frequency, the file is indistinguishable from the same size image at
twice the screen frequency. So your first move should be to lower the
resolution without resampling to 262.5 dpi (175 lpi x 1.5). The resulting
change should get you at or close to the needed image size without
interpolation.

If you wish to res up your files it is best (if possible) to shoot raw and
open them in Photoshop using Camera Raw plugin. The raw file which needs to
interpolated anyway to be processed into a tiff, can be res(ed) up larger
than its native size interpolating once only and thereby making a cleaner
file. I have gotten excellent full page results even with a D1 (smaller file
than your D100) using this technique
