I can’t speak specifically about files from the D100 but I have a D60 which I believe is comparable and have regularly interpolated images to double (and on occasion more) their normal 18mb. Only recently I had a DPS printed in a magazine from a D60 file. I now have a 1Ds and have just shot a job before Christmas where the 31mb converted raw tiff where cropped square and then interpolated to 75mb no problem.
I generally use step interpolation but there have been numerous post here about this which would be worthwhile ready.

Hi All,
Many thanks for all the help Re: Sensor size.
This is almost directly related to my quest for "Big Digital"!
I found this on a commercial web site:
"As a rule of thumb it is generally possible to double the size of a scanned or captured image without significant degradation of the image sharpness. "
I have always understood that interpolation should be avoided at all costs, but this view makes me wonder whether my D100 images would be suitable for full A4 with bleed CMYK reproduction at 360dpi (175 lines).
I should be very interested to hear from anyone with practical experience along these lines.
Many thanks,
John
