Yes they would. Plenty of mine have. My experience is that whatever you did on 35mm, a D100 - shooting RAW - will do better. It isn't medium format though. Mind you on a single close up portrait it does a very good impression of MF.
I should be very interested to hear from anyone with practical experience along these lines.
