I am coming to this thread late so forgive me if this is irrelevant. I use the D1X and D100 and have found that I get outstanding images interpolated up to 30 x 24 and larger. The Bicubic interpolation in PS 7 is fantastic and the Bicubic Smoothing in CS even better. Admittedly, I output to a large format inkjet printer but it is at 360 dpi and, of course, in CMYK.
