Richard you are quite right, it's my fault for not making my point clearer
which I realise having reread my post. I was simply clarifying the point.

I mainly wanted to make the point that because scanning backs require
considerably more light to achieve small aperture exposures they are less
than ideal when this is a regular requirement, however medium format backs
are still unable to capture wide angle images in situations like room sets
or architecture etc accept for the new 22mp backs on a 6x4.5 system. These
are for the moment beyond the budget of many I guess, but as prices fall as
they inevitably will these issues will get resolved.

Until then you are left with the 1Ds or the 14n.
