Thanks Patrick. I tried that but it makes no difference. One odd thing that I found is that if I restart then VueScan shows the scanner in the input panel but if I try to preview or to scan then VS hangs. When I restart VS no scanner is seen at all! I have two separate 10.3.2 startup drives & this behaviour is the same with both. I think this is a problem with the Adaptec 2906 on OSX 10.3.2 rather than with the scanner on OSX 10.3.2 as the backup tape has also stopped working. It all works fine with 10.2.8! Are you using the Adaptec 2906 card? Do you have a file called Adaptec78XXSCSI.KEXT installed in the System\Library\Extension folder? I only have VueScan to drive this scanner, Microtek have no OSX drivers so I can't test to see if the card & scanner work with different software. Does anyone know of any other software that I could try for comparison?
