Thanks Bob, I've already been there. I have 3 drives with startup systems, one with 10.3.2 & all the bells & whistles that I normally use, one clean 'out of the box' 10.3.2 & one 10.2.8 with a few additions (Wacom, Quickeys & stuff). Neither of the Panther drives will run the scanner though they will run the DDS3 backup on the same scsi chain. The old Jaguar drive works everything perfectly. >Support for your card is built into 10.3 (and possibly late 10.2 >versions). Since I think you mentioned upgrading to get to 10.3 I'm >wondering if maybe there aren't elements of an old SCSI driver at work >somewhere that's mucking up the works. There was an extension that Adaptec asked me to try removing (Adaptec78XXSCSI.KEXT), I did that but no change. >Also, make sure Classic isn't >running at the same time and loading some sort of SCSI driver that >causes a conflict. Nope... I am coming to the conclusion that there is a real underlying problem in the way the scanner talks scsi to Panther. The Apple lists speak of a problem with Panther's scsi implementation so I need Apple to fix this or for Vuescan or Microtek to find a work around. For now I am batching the scanning & rebooting back down to Jaguar which at least keeps me in business.
