I've repaired them after now (twice, second time clear) but there's no apparent change. >You might also try removing all the items relating to VueScan, and >re-installing in case there is some form of leftover. Vuescan is pretty self contained, just the app & an '.ini' file. I've tried various versions of Vuescan on two different 10.3.2 startup drives, all fail in a similar way. But starting from a 10.2.8 drive works with all Vuescan versions & this scanner. A demo version of Silverfast also fails (although in a slightly different way) so I think the scanning software is innocent. I've asked Ed H for comments but not yet had a reply. >A further thought >is to check on the Adaptec web pages to see whether anyone else is >experiencing similar symptoms. As ever, I seem to be the only one in the world... I think this must be either the scanner (Microtek only say that there is no 10.3.2 software for their scanner) or the Adaptec card. Adaptec are being helpful but without success as yet. If I restart everything then the backup tape on the same scsi chain works until I try to use the scanner, then the scanner software hangs & the backup tape no longer responds until another restart. It seems like the scsi clockwork is broken by trying to start the scanner. I really can't see where to go from here... Anyone want a nice shiny Artixscan 1100?
