Generators seem cost effective - especially as I already have one for power cuts... and I have a 50m 20amp extension lead, which might let me leave the 75kg generator in the trailer and reduce noise. I have avoided a permanent installation, as I thought I might need it away from base sometime.
Do they not supple 12v dc input chargers for laptops? Even my little Z3 has a 1kw alternator... and you only want power a few seconds at a time. I was considering and inverter for instant inkjet printing.
