Thanks Jack for the comments. I guess everybody needs the speed of PS7 and
only the necesity of working in 16 bits, plus the main upgrade of ACr
justify at least keeping them both in the computer.

My rejection toward the healing tool ( also responding to Nick ) is that
unbearable lack of true real time response , and then, for things other than
spottting I just find it annoying, having to wait, even a second, just to
find out the blend result may or may not be perfect and then the Undo
command becomes as effective than the tool itself, so I end up jumping to
good'ol real-time cloning tool.

I know of the extra delay in 16 bits in this and many other functions of CS,
but thought maybe there were new tricks in the bag I did not know that you
were ranting about.

If you want to make retouching in 16 bits, this is photoretouching in it's
purest form,( no layers no mess) but real effective one, try PhotoRetouch
Pro, now in its version 3.0. You may get a big surprise, specially if your
first and obvious step is cleaning the scans. For that alone, you will find
a justified investment ( there is a tool that outsmarts the healing tool,
plus classic cloning and others). Download the quicktime tutorials and the
demo and see for yourself.

Thanks
Jorge
