Dear Johnathon, A cheaper swap file alternative which will make serious speed improvements is as follows.
Get 2 western digital 36.7Gb Western Digital Raptor Enterprise Serial ATA (ATA-150) (10Krpm, 8MB Cache) Drives and a sata raid card from maplins The card is about �40 and the drives are �83 each from maplins. You can then stripe them and get rougly double the speed of one sata drive ns probable 3-4 times the data transfer rate you have at the moment. So for about �200 you sorted .This I know is not the same speed as the scsi equivalents but a lot faster than what you have at the moment.
