Greetings Bob and Mike, Bob is absolutely right about the wide format HP Design Jet Printers. They out perform the Epson wide format printers hands down.
I use a Design Jet 5500. It costs 41 cents USD per Sq. ft. to operate. The printer is idiot proof. Any errors are always operator related. HP supplies both a dye ink and a pigment ink. And many different types of paper in roll form, each with a profile for excellent color. Bad prints are so few, that I would have to say they are so nonexistant that it's a real surprise if it happens. Customer support for my printer has been excellent. No lies or half truths or anything like that. Always straight forward and professional. Including quick call backs and follow up calls to see if everything went well. ============================================================= Bob wrote: What consumable cost? I have proofed five books on my Designjet printer and have only changed one of the ink cartridges. If I had done it on the 2100 it would have cost, in ink alone, more than the cost of the printer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ On 4 Apr 2004, at 15:31, Michael Harvey wrote: > It is unfortunate that HP were the first printer manufacturer to be > criticised for the cost of their consumables.
