Dear List members,
Father tells his son "take off that hat", and the son replied "why?" and the
father answered "because I said so". That was an inscription from the
birthday card I received from my son.

I will not take issues with many of the contributions of which many have
lost focus of the primary question raised in this thread, and I prefer
keeping any contribution I make constructive. Questions such as my grey is
greyer than yours or the like, is entirely subjective; why do many pros
invest in high-end gears? is laughable, because you dont want to hear my
answer.

Lets keep the discussion in this list purely technical and verifiable, shall
we? There are of course some valid points been addressed with regards to
monitor calibration and type of monitor and I have acknowledged that before.
My argument had all along been, that you can obtain perfect results in terms
of colour rendition and output to a a desktop printer such as the Epson 2100
with the humble PowerBook G4 and this stands irrefutable till this point of
my writing.

Oh, about the luxury question, please read the last paragraph of Richard
Kenward's contribution to this thread regarding battered Ford cars... And I
aver to that metaphor which reinforces what I have said earlier that any
additional equipment, software to the PowerBook G4 with Photoshop CS and OSX
in terms of calibrating you screen in other to obtain a perfect print from
your desktop printer is a luxury!

Regards
Inno'
