Dear Shangara,
C1 is not dedicated to 1Ds, it works with most of the cameras. And there are now inexpensive versions dedicated to lower range cameras.
I agree with Bob that's a good investments. That said, it's not flawless: colours don't visually perfectly match with CS, their eye dropper don't shows precise results and the "out of range" warning doesn't work well enough, likewise sharpening.
And I may pursue with the 3,5 MB prevue it stores on the HD, the overall slow reaction, the time it took to build the prevues, thumbnails and default settings files.
I also had disk crashes when I tried to move files from one HD to another using the file browser, the advantage to use it is to move in the same time the RAW file, the settings, the thumbnail and prevue.
Regarding advantage: I feel better to works with contrast, saturation, white and dark settings under their real names, managing curves and channels is also a great feature. Regarding the results, and in addition to those already exposed by Don Lashier quoted by Bob, I found C1 gave me far much noiseless files and smother colours. Also I sometimes use the dedicated curves in order to manage shadows or overall contrast.
I also use it batch ability to convert easily different frames of a picture I mix in PS.
Of course I correct roughly the colours, and I keep final editing in PS. I just couldn't miss my right or my left hand.
Best regards.

Comparing C1 and Camera Raw is not fair because one is a dedicated Raw convertor and costs an arm and a leg while the other can be had for the price of an upgrade,
