Dear List
The bad weather is allowing me to catch up with some much needed editing of a few thousand frames. I am struck by the difference between looking at digital files and film. There was always a sense of excitement when a pile of film came back from the lab and I looked at it on the lightbox for the first time. I would keep going back to the sheets with a lupe to have another look. I just don't seem to be getting this with digital capture. Scanning through images in PS File Browser just isn't the same. Does anyone else notice this and is there a cure?
I am viewing on a 22" monitor. Would a big flat screen make any difference? I have even thought of not peeking at the preview in the back of the camera when I take the pictures. Another answer might be to make prints to have something tangible to hold, but they would only end up in a drawer after a day or two.
Any ideas
