Ed I have tried Linux from red hat years ago and I have a pc here that came with it on (and I'm changing that to windows xp). But when I wanted to do anything like put software on, first I have to pick a version that works on my distro. When I get software it was often just a zip file with bad instructions on how to set up. You program for linux I assume so you know it pretty well but I don't see the average user being able to get stuff done outside of Internet and office. Allen

No, I wasn't trying to convince anyone that Linux is easier. My reason for that example was that I had asked for a concrete example of his experience with a recent Linux distro that showed how it is "too hard" for regular folks to use, so I felt that if I asked for such a thing, I should at the very least do the same. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
