Immediately before the change to Altium tactics, I was for Protel if I ever had to do it on my own. It was affordable. My subscription to Protel's designer forum followed soon after my interest in layout. For quite a while, I have remained a subscriber to this list because I want to pay back what I have learned. I do realize the possibility for me to ever pay back what I have learned may be nonexistent, especially since I keep learning. Damn this perpetual wheel. I keep trying. My point is that I will be a spare tire or the backrest of a seat on the bandwagon if I cannot be a wheel. I found out that I missed this list after I had trouble with the list server. I hope that I am not forced to miss it again.
