Like someone pointed on the openBSD list in a heated discussion with RMS a while ago, according to those arguments, FSF also encourages people to use non-free software: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/windows/faq2.html. Someone could argue that those instructions are there to allow people running a closed OS to use free software, but that's not a very different argument from the one used by people that must work with hardware that requires non-free firmware. So, is it a problem to explain on the distro's website how to get closed drivers/firmwares installed?!
